Gameplay Overview
The Cruciball is a throwing arcade game and training tool. It's an intense survival game where you throw balls at enemies to survive. You travel across various worlds, defeating powerful bosses, and acquiring hordes of upgrades to become stronger and test your strength. With seven stages, over 30 unique enemies, and more than 40 unique upgrades, it keeps you coming back for more!
The Cruciball is a rogue-like video game, meaning each playthrough offers a new experience. You physically throw balls at targets projected onto a wall. You progress through various stages, each with unique enemies and challenges. The last level in each stage features a unique and challenging boss fight. You'll face difficult decisions as you carefully plan your adventure and select upgrades to suit your playstyle while synergizing with your other upgrades. Grow your strength by choosing powerful upgrades, refine yourself in The Cruciball, and save your pet from the nefarious Warlock!
Technical Capabilities
The Cruciball is capable of tracking multiple balls at once from multiple throwers, allowing for unlimited group fun! It uses a pair of high-speed cameras to detect throws and track where the balls hit the wall. The Cruciball works best with a dedicated setup, including a ceiling-mounted projector and recessed cameras, but it can be brought anywhere with just a laptop, projector, and a pair of tripods for the cameras. The system's accuracy and responsiveness ensure an immersive and engaging experience.
Training Benefits
The Cruciball is also a great training and fitness tool. It's a full-body cardio workout and an excellent accuracy and throwing trainer! Set the in-game difficulty to match your desired intensity, then face the challenge! Refine your physical skills and coordination while having fun in The Cruciball.
Development Status
The Cruciball is still under construction. Development began in late February 2024, and since then, the game has made incredible progress, even moving between game engines. It is being developed by a solo developer. As of now, the game is functionally in closed beta. It is currently feature complete but is still undergoing more play-testing, refinement, and polishing before being released to the public. Commercial purchase and licensing of The Cruciball are expected to be available in late 2024.
